Vice President of Marketing
Brickfish is seeking a Vice President of Marketing to grow the company’s presence in the social media advertising space. This senior management position will have the opportunity to define, build, and execute a marketing strategy critical to Brickfish’s continued success in Social Media. The VP of Marketing will be located in San Diego and report directly to the CEO.

Brickfish, the Social Media Solution, has created a new and unique way for marketers to engage consumers across the Social Web via Social Networks, Twitter, Blogs, E-mail, IM, etc. Brickfish’s patent-pending technologies provide brands, agencies, and media re-seller partners with a single source solution which leverages the power of social media sites and user-generated content. The end result is the creation of effective social media programs for clients that drive awareness, motivate call’s to action, and deliver vital analytics. Brickfish provides comprehensive reporting of viral activity, demographic data and other valuable consumer feedback. Position Overview
The VP of Marketing will be responsible for all aspects of Marketing, including brand development, product management, marketing communications and PR. A passion for social media, and an appreciation of its potential for both users and advertisers, is important. A proven track record of building effective marketing programs in digital media is required. This position is a part of the Brickfish senior management team.
Responsibilities:
• Strategic planning including corporate positioning, market and competitive analysis, customer segment selection, and related product positioning
• Oversee marketing communications including positioning, public relations, advertising, marketing events, collateral materials and analyst and market research management
• Oversee corporate website design, messaging and content to effectively present and communicate value proposition to potential brand-direct clients, agency partners, and media re-sellers.
• Define and direct marketing programs for demand creation, lead generation and interface with VP Sales and SVP Partnerships for lead tracking and management.
• Work closely with VP Sales to develop and manage agency and brand-direct communication strategies and programs
• Work closely with SVP Partnerships to refine Partner re-seller platform proposition, communication strategies, and product mix
• Improve company’s web presence through SEO optimization, keyword acquisition, key ad buys and other methods
• Oversee product management including market and customer research for product requirements, interface with engineering for product development, assist with product pricing, and product lifecycle management
• Oversee product marketing including product launch management, sales training, presentations, sales tools, and competitive analysis
• PR management including key message development and media outreach
• Manage Brickfish audience attraction and retention as well as on-going communication vehicles including Newsletter, blog, social media presence, etc.
• Represent Brickfish at industry shows and events including speaking opportunities.
• Present results, strategies and in-depth analysis at regular Board of Directors meetings.
Qualifications & Experience:
• 10+ years of demonstrable management experience coupled with a successful track record in developing and executing marketing programs for digital media companies.
• Deep knowledge of online marketing and advertising models
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to be both strategic and hands on
• Experience building marketing teams and ability to evangelize a new solution in the digital market.
• A big company ‘polish’ is important, but experience of having lived through the early stages of an organization and possessing the appetite for facing such challenges is essential.
• Excellent written and verbal communication/presentation skills.
• High energy and creativity with an entrepreneurial, hands-on and get-it-done approach.
• An MBA is not required. A proven ability to take an idea from concept to mature product is a must.
